On Building Legacy
February 2023, Angel and I began planning a two-week visit in California. Two weeks on vacation was unusual for us because we were always working. We knew that we needed more time with our children and grandchildren. They wanted us to be around more, and we wanted the same thing. The Message Bible says, “a good life gets passed on to the grandchildren; ill-gotten wealth ends up with good people”. If you read other translations, you will conclude that the author is talking about wealth. For me, I take this scripture to mean legacy. Angel and I hope to leave God a legacy of worshippers from our family.”

A Father's Legacy Prayers

Lord God, my Banner, I dedicate my life, family, and legacy to You. You are my standard for loving my wife and raising my children. By Your Holy Spirit, heal my heart, prune my life, reveal Your truths, guide my steps, and help me protect my family without being a stumbling block to their faith. Provide for us, bless our employment, and guide our location.​

Lord God, my Righteousness, I renounce all covenants made under the enemy’s lies and declare them void in Jesus’ Name. I plead the Blood of Jesus over my mind, heart, body, wife, children, grandchildren, finances, estate, ministry, and voice in the Kingdom of God. I declare redemption in my bloodline and timeline. Open my eyes to Heaven’s supernatural, teach me to command my angels, and guide me in Truth.

Teach me to support her identity, role, and mission. Help me reconcile when I falter, and remove any resentment or bitterness. May our marriage be guided by Holy Spirit

Bless me with the right heart, compassion, rigor, and dedication to raise my children in Your ways, following Joseph’s example. Protect them from the enemy through Your angels.
